A Study on Social Attitude in the Exegesis of Qur an

Message:
Abstract:
The social attitude (tendency) is one of the recent exegetical attitudes that has not lived more than a century. Thus is still on its starting point and first steps. Nonetheless it has caused an enormous evolution in the holy Qur’an's exegetical world. The basic purpose of this tendency alongside its pioneers and followers is to bring the holy Qur’an in the core of people's life and should not let the holy Qur’an remain formally marginalized. It should get changed from this ceremonial fashion to an important element of life and the light for Muslim's path. In another word the holy Qur’an is to be granted its necessary, appropriate and righteous position. The forerunner of this tendency is Sayyed Jamaluddin Asad Abadi and his first social exegesis was written by his student “Sheik Muhammad Abduh”. Afterward, other exegetes have chosen and developed this tendency in the rest of Islamic countries. This attitude like every other movement enjoys some positive and negative aspects. The social exegetes are gradually trying to identify and eliminate those defects.
