An Introduction to Theoretical Considerations of Cultural Synergy
Abstract:
This paper aims to review the concept, assumptions, and elements of synergy and cultural synergy. Synergy refers to the working together of individuals to produce an effect greater than the sum of their particular effects. In other words, it refers to a logic in which the total sum of elements surpasses the individual contributions of the individuals and the personal endeavors of the members are combines to produce an effect that is greater mathematical sum of the inputs. When there is no covering culture or approach, cultural synergism can act as a convenient approach to combine and unite different perspectives and approaches. Cultural synergism is the most convenient way for treating with cultural diversity. Cultural synergism relies on the cultural characteristics of member cultures; it defines the difference as important as similarities and reflects the common cultural values of cultures. Achieving cultural synergy requires clear cultural aims, commitment to a common goal, effective intercultural communication, mutual cultural trust, efficient intercultural negotiation, effective leadership, cultural creativity and intelligence, related management skills and a promising environment
