This research was aimed to investigate and compare emotional attitudes of hearing disability and intellectually disabled students’ mothers towards their children.
Among hearing disability and intellectually disabled students’ mothers in Tehran, 30 ones whose children were intellectually disabled and 30 whose were hearing disability were chosen through random sampling. The informants were asked about the rate of rejection, acceptance, expressed affection and giving freedom toward their children. The data gathered by means of questionnaire.
According to the result, the difference of the rate of rejection, acceptance, expressed affection and giving freedom toward their children between the groups under study were not significant.
Both groups experience same attitudes toward their exceptional children. In other words children’s exceptionality does not affect mothers’ attitudes towards their children. We can conclude that these exceptionality have same effects on mothers.
