Effectiveness of coping therapy on job stress and satisfaction of firefighters

Abstract:
Regardless of financing, the job may meet some of essential needs of human such as mental and physical activity, social contact, self-value feeling, trust and capability. Nonetheless, the job may be also a major pressure source, hence the objective of extant paper is to identify and express the effectiveness of coping therapy on job stress and satisfaction of firefighters. This study that is a quasi-experimental research, 80 firefighters of Tehran were selected randomly and were selected in two control and test groups. The data was collected by questionnaire. The findings of this study indicate that a significant relationship exists between F value of analysis of covariance of job stress and job satisfaction variables, and adjustment of pretest effect in control and test group. Therefore, whereas cognitive therapy is effective on increasing the feeling of domination, upon increase in cognitive schemas of people encountering the job issues may familiarize and encounter the people much more with the job pressures and consequently upraise the people’s satisfaction.
