Areas of Utilizing Research Findings in Khoraasaan-e-Razavee's Department of Education

Abstract:
To determine areas in which current research findings can be utilized, 33 educational administrators, researchers, and staff were interviewed in two stages. Furthermore, direct field surveys were conducted in order to gather data on the po tential beneficiary groups. Results show that more than half of the interviewees lacked awareness of the research findings relevant to their fields. Furthermore, the interviewees considered most research as unrelated to the real problems of their area of specialty. As a result, it seems that utilization is more symbolic than real. The main reason for this kind of utilization, according to the respondents, is the fact that the conducted research are not problem oriented and do not address the needs of the educational community. Furthermore, lack of belief in the necessity of conducting research and research-based decision making are cited among the main causes.
