A Historical-Comparitive Study of Hassan Sabbah and Hassan Sabbah Bartol in the novel Alamut
Abstract:
Undoubtedly Alamut by Bartol can be considered as one of the masterpieces of Slovenia and Europe which has been exposed to different readings for decades. One of its naive readings is regarding the novel as a literally narration of the events of Iran in the 11th century, the time that Esmailis with Hasan Sabbah as the leader ruled over Alamut Castel. This article tries to analyze that although Bartol had a lot of information about the Middle East of that time but he looks at his own nation and the miserable events of his own country through his own perspective of Hasan Sabbah. This article respects Alamut as a sublime literary work embodying the profound social and nationalistic sufferings of the writer made immortal through his work.
