Expression of a Conceptual Pattern from the Relations of the Engaging Period Conflicts (before Marriage) by Marital Satisfaction (after Marriage)

The marriage is an entrance to a new stage of the life that is very important in the individual and social life of every person. Forming of relations through the engaging period affects the next behaviors and contacts of the couples. Therefore it seems to be very necessary to recognize the factors that cause to conflicts in the engaging period for preventing the next conflicts or divorce after marriage. The necessary information has been collected from 18 women who has experienced the engaging period through the Grounded Theory method. After analyzing the information، 5 theoretical codes were recognized. These codes were “the causing factors of conflicts”، “the strategies that increases the conflicts”، “the strategies that decreases the conflicts” and “the causing factors of forming these (decreasing and increasing) strategies in conflict”. Findings show that conflicts and the circumstances of the couple actions at this period plays an important role in forming the next relation after marriage that cause to marital satisfaction (or non satisfaction) in the life. These findings show the necessity of the couple therapists’ attention to this stage in the life cycle.
