A study on effect of Chromium on sperm motility of Persian Sturgeon (Acipenserpersicus)

This study was conducted to determine the effects heavy metal of Chromium on the motility parameters of Acipenser persicus sperm in vitro. For this evaluation semen samples were collected from 10 adult male broodstocks and were transported to the Central laboratory In the vicinity of ice. Then Sturgeon sperm were exposed for 0، 2، 4، 24، 48 and 72h to Chromium at0. 1 and 5 mg L− 1 concentrations. After this times percentage off motile spermatozoa and Duration of motility measurement. The results revealed that 5 mg L− 1 concentration of Chromium stay of motility after 2 h Incubation whiles The consentration of 0. 1 mg L− 1 Chromium significantly decreased sperm motility (p<0. 05) in 48 and 72 h. Percentage of sperm motility significantly reduced in initial incubation and not significant at another time. In conclusion، changes of sperm motility influence the reproduction efficiency and can reduce the reproductive success in this fish.
