Trend Analysis of the Changes in Seasonal and Annual Maximum and Minimum Temperatures in Fars province by the Use of Nonparametric Methods

Abstract:
The aim of this research is to investigate the changes in seasonal and annual Maximum and Minimum Temperatures in Fars province by nonparametric methods. Mann-Kendall and Sen’S Estimator are the most famous nonparametric methods to study the data of precipitation in seasonal and annual scales. The synoptic stations in Fars province were selected in the period of (1989-2010) and two mentioned tests were applied and results were compared. The results showed that the applications of these two methods of Mann-Kendall and Sen’S Estimator for minimum and maximum temperatures, the cities of Fars province are similar in most cases. Data series of seasonal and annual of maximum and minimum temperatures in both methods except in case Doroodzan station that data of summer season, it has an upward trend and the maximum temperature in winter season data also has an upward trend, for other stations the same results were obtained. Finally, maximum temperature, in the cities of Fars province has an upward trend except in spring season of Abadeh and minimum temperature also has an upward trend except for spring season of Abadeh and summer and winter seasons and annual of Fasa.
