Heutagogy in adult education

Abstract:
Employing analytical and archival method, this research seeks to probe Heutagogy in adult education. Education is a complex concepet and a part of our entire life. Today we can speak of a new generation of learners at all levels, from preschool to university, not only as a result of technological advancements but also because of swift variations in an open, heterogeneous, and dynamic environment. Heutagogy emphasizes the ‘how’ of education and requires educational plans involving the imporovement of learners’ real learning skills. Conceptuatlly, heutagogy is the best link between two theories of complexity and personal capabilities. Finally, there are lots of challenges facing this approach. In addition, as a resistance against scientific changes and the fear of descending the power from teacher to student, growth of financial issues and pressure on students, it reagrds the new technlogical requirements and accentuates the constant review and marking instead of the process of learning. In heutagogy, creating qualified and talented learners for life in swift economic and cultural changes of the post-modern world is of prime importance. It represents opportunities for improvement of learning on the grounds of learners’ needs and the speed of learning. Yet heutagogy is an established and extended approach in andragogy and deals with advancing teaching methods for adults which is essentially supported by distance learning.
