World trade and wheat self-sufficiency in world

Self-sufficiency is very important in the agricultural sector. The present paper seeks to study the effects of the World Trade Organization's establishment in 1995 on the wheat self-sufficiency production in five continents through the world. Whereas the production of quantitative analysis through the optimal value of agricultural production factors in a bid lead to self-sufficiency of comparative compared share of world grain production factors, before and after the establishment of the World Trade Organization is considered as the other verified goals in this case. In this regard in order to estimate the grain production function, functional Cobb-Douglas and Translog forms in the years 1995-1981 and 1996-2010 for the countries who are producing wheat, are evaluated by Panel data estimation method. The obtained results demonstrated during the 30 years period through 2010-1980, the process of self-sufficiency of wheat production in three continents as African, American and Asian, has enjoyed stability, while the establishment of the WTO led to the increase of grain self-sufficiency of the European continent and a reduction in grain self-sufficiency fluctuations in the Oceania continent. As well it will be determined also Cobb-Douglas function is considered as an optimal function to estimate. The consumed wheat's seed before World trade and the fertilizer after WTO have the most effects on the wheat yield. The share-placed labor force after World Trade has been decreased and the efficiency of this quality has been increased.
