The effect of transformational leadership style on knowledge management (Case Study: West Azerbaijan province police chief)

West Azerbaijan Province police force specific requirements of regional having long borders with neighboring countries, ethnic problems, smuggling issues in the community, use of indigenous resources with specific environmental Culture,has forced West Azerbaijan Province police force to apply ideas and approaches in leadership and knowledge management. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on knowledge management in Western Azerbaijan province police chief.
In this study, the research method is descriptive one. The statistical population includes all employees working in Western Azerbaijan province headquarter, the sample size estimates, 361 people have been calculated by Cochran formula. For sampling, stratified method for determining the validity of the research, and the content and formal validity was used. To examine the reliability of the Cronbach's test (Cronbach's alpha was 0.886 total.) Was used. In order to analyze the data, structural equation modeling approach was used partial least squares and application smart pls.
Finding: The results indicate that variable idealized influence with 8/51 per cent, 0.44 per cent intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation variable 9/61 percent, 0.51 percent and the develop-oriented support and transformational leadership oriented 3.70% of the variance of knowledge management has been able to explain. In other words, via implementation of transformational leadership style, we can have knowledge management in West Azerbaijan province police headquarter to improve the rate of 3/70 percent.
