Historiographical Analysis in Islam and Iran

This paper which is actually the edited transcription of a multi-hour interview with Mr. Qasem Tabrizi, modern history document expert, concerning historiography through the eyes of Islam. According to this point of view Iranian Historiography methods in last few years are discussed. In this regard principal discussions about history analysis in Islam and Iran which are helpful to understand historical developments and using the lessons learned from the past humans in history are represented. The main word of this paper is that how corrent understanding history can help us to use good experiences of the past to solve today’s problems and at the same time prevent from repeating the past mistakes and do not let them to happen again. Learning from history, transferring the past experiences to the next generations, presenting patterns and icons for humans, understanding right and wrong in history researches, knowing the traditional histories in Koran, knowing Iranian historiographical styles, knowing the weakness and privileges of this historiography and finally emphasizing on knowing the role of colonialism in compiling Iranian history and the ways to confronting it through launching Colonialism Studies in Social Sciences In Iran are the main readable points in this article.
