Barriers and Structural Constraints Commitment to Citizenship Ethics among 18-29 year old youth

Abstract:
This article is from a research. At this research the obstacles and limitations of commitment to ethic citizenship is studied by considering the major structural obstacles (mind-objective) in dimensions of (practical- attitude and values) among 18-29 year old youth in Tehran. Whether the structural constraints (subjective objective) in the dimensions (practical, attitude, value) of the commitment to citizenship ethics affect the young people of Tehran, or not, is the main question of the present research. In the theoretical framework of this research, Parsons 'theories have been used to explain the independent variable (structural barriers and constraints) and Durkheim, Giddens, and Haberma's theory to explain the dependent variable (commitment to citizenship ethics).
This research has been carried out in a survey method. Data collection was done using questionnaire tool (researcher made). Sample size was obtained by random sampling. So, after dividing Tehran into different regions, cluster and random sampling was performed with respondents interviewing and information needed. The statistical population of the study is Tehranian citizens aged 18 to 29 years. Assumptions were analyzed using Pearson's empirical tests, regression and path analysis. The results of the research indicated that structural constraints in social, cultural, personality and biological dimensions are related to the commitment to citizenship ethics and the cultural system has the most restrictive effect on the dependent variable of commitment to citizenship ethics. In general, in the present research, the main problem, the structural barriers and constraints in the commitment to citizenship ethics, can be explained in terms of the theories of Parsons. Also, based on the theory of Habermas, Giddens, Durkheim and Popper, the effect of structural constraints on commitment to citizenship ethics is possible.
