The role of learning styles and Personality Traits with Critical Thinking between physical education students

This research aimed to investigate the role of learning styles and personality traits in tendency to critical thinking in physical education students. In this descriptive and correlational study, among the Physical education students of Islamic Azad University of Birjand, 170 students were selected by cluster sampling method and completed Kolb learning style inventory, NEO personality inventory and tendency to critical thinking questionnaire. The results showed that convergent learning style and extraversion and openness to experience components are predictor of critical thinking.Given the importance of expansion and growth of critical thinking in the research literature of the world, in our country this issue should be considered and the underlying mechanisms affecting critical thinking (convergent learning style, extroversion and openness to experience) should be strengthened, too.
