Luristān Scholars and Ayatullāh Sayyid Shahāb al-Dīn Mar‘ashī Najafī

The author has cited the names of one hundred scholars of Luristān in three groups: Ayatullāh Mar‘ashī Najafī›s students, those licensed by him, and those who have been both his student and have been licensed by him in three forms, i.e. to narrate, to do free investigation, and to represent him in benevolent actions. This article is derived from other books authored by the writer about the Luristān scholars, especially the unpublished book Luristān scholars and Ayatullāh Mar‘ashī Najafī. Aside from the foregoing section, the book presents Ayatullāh Mar‘ashī›s masters and licensing scholars from among Luristān scholars, the documents on their interactions with him, and their memories about this late legal authority. The author has provided a brief biography for each of the 100 cited scholars. The sources used by the author are books as well as numerous interviews with the contemporary scientific figures as part of the oral history.
