Maqṣūd Nijāt; a poem in response to Mullā ῌasan Kāshī’s refrain

The refrain of Mullānā ῌasan Kāshī (d. 726 AH) has a firm and known status in the realm of Shī‘a religious poetry. This symbolic status has caused many poets to try following his poem. Shi‘a poets of the subcontinent India had a special concern for composing a response to the refrain of Mullā ῌasan Kāshī and regarded it a duty and honor for themselves. Undoubtedly, one of the ways to study the religious poetry and praising and eulogizing Ahl al-Bayt (as) is researching about the responses to the Mullā ῌasan Kāshī’s refrain. One of the anonymous composers in responding to Kāshī’s poem is researched about in this article. In following and answering to Kāshī’s poem, Sayyid Mukhtār ῌussein taqawī (13th century AH) in the subcontinent of India has tested his sense of poem composing and has written a valuable and noteworthy response with the title of “Maqṣūd Nijāt”. In addition to providing the biography of the composer of this work, the text of the refrain of Sayyid Mukhtār ῌussein taqawī is provided in this article.
