Relationships between Perceived Social Support and Self-Sufficiency with Psychological Well-Being in elderly patients with cardiovascular diseases: the Mediating Role of psychological capital
The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between perceived social support and self-efficacy with psychological well-being through the mediating role of psychological capital in the elderly with cardiovascular disease.
The present study was a descriptive correlation and statistical population included all elderly men with cardiovascular disease referred to hospitals in Qazvin in 1398, which was performed by targeted sampling. A total of 230 people were selected and then answered four questionnaires of the perceived social support scale of Zimet et al. 1998, the self-sufficiency scale of Jalali et al., The 1989 psychological well-being scale, and the Lutans Psychological Capital Scale. In order to analyze the data, regression analysis test and path analysis method were used using SPSS software version 16.
The results of data analysis showed that there is no significant relationship between perceived social support and self-sufficiency, but there is a significant relationship between perceived social support and psychological well-being and between self-sufficiency and psychological well-being of the elderly; Perceived and psychological well-being does not play a mediating role, but acts as a mediator between self-sufficiency and psychological well-being.
This study shows the effective role of perceived social support and self-sufficiency and psychological capital in predicting the psychological well-being of the elderly and it is recommended that psychological and counseling interventions to improve and Promoting the psychological well-being of these people should be considered.
