Comparison of the Effect of Teaching Methods, Group Discussion and Curriculum on Knowledge about Drug Abuse in High School Male Students in Bushehr
The most common school programs for drug abuse prevention, the use of health education programs (providing information on materials), educational and information programs, programs that use the information dissemination strategy, knowledge about the effects of drug drug, the consequences Social, psychological and physical intake, social attitudes, norms and penalties, and public health education. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of three teaching methods, group discussion and educational package on knowledge about drug abuse among boyshehr high school boy students in 1396.
In a pseudo-experimental and randomized cluster design study, 119 students were selected from four high schools in Bushehr city, 86 of them in the experimental group and 33 in the control group. The researcher-made questionnaire was completed as a pre-test by three groups of experimental group discussion, lecture and educational package, and a control group. Then each experimental group received six addiction prevention training sessions. The control group spent its regular daily routine. Then, from all four groups, experimental and post-test control were performed. After collecting the data, according to the research design, using SPSS one-way covariance (ANCOVA) and Bonferon two-way comparison were used.
Findings and Results:
The results of statistical analysis showed that group discussion, lecture and educational package had a positive and significant effect on students' knowledge. The method of teaching group discussion in comparison with lecture groups and educational package on students is significantly increased. Therefore, this study showed that teaching group discussion is the most effective teaching method for increasing awareness about drug abuse.
