Abstract:

The soil of Imam Hussein grave is a part of the earth and since according to the Islamic rules we can prostrate on earth, so we can do it for the soil of Imam Hussein's grave as well. Abd al-Rahman Dimashqiyya, as a contemporary Wahhabi scholar, maintains that prostrating to the soil of Imam Husain's grave is forbidden. For proving his ideas, he mentions four hadiths, indicating that prostration is only allowed on earth, and then undermine these narrations. In his idea, these narrations lack the authenticity. if we have a quick survey on the Islamic sources, it will be cleared that these narrations are authentic and only there is a minor problem in the document of one of these Hadiths. We can boost this weak narration with so many strong hadiths of that kind. Briefly speaking, we can say that Abd al-Rahman Dimashqiyya's claim on prohibition of prostrating on the Imam Husain soil is baseless.
