Factors affecting the promotion of reading culture in society from the perspective of Tehrani students

Abstract:
Reading culture is not only one of the main components and pillars of culture, but it is also the cause of cultural evolution and growth. Investigations showed that most of the researches in the field of reading culture are focused on the field of students and less attention is paid to the students' point of view in this field. In this regard, the mentioned research has been done with the aim of identifying the effective factors on improving the reading culture in the society from the perspective of  Tehrani students. The research method is a survey type and the data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire (economic, cultural and managerial factors in the form of 19 items) and the statistical sample includes 300 students of Tehran city, who were selected using the cluster sampling method and using Descriptive and inferential statistics were analyzed. The results showed that in the field of economic factors, the components of "amount of individual capital", "amount of monthly salary" in the field of cultural factors, the components of "inclination to literature, history and culture of the country", "a person's academic degree" and "participation in exhibitions" Cultural and artistic" and in the field of management factors, the components of "organization of cultural activities in society", "inconsistency of cultural management in society" and "monitoring the performance of cultural institutions" are the most important factors influencing the promotion of reading culture in society from the perspective of Tehrani students. The findings from the data analysis showed that the managerial and cultural factors related to the promotion of reading culture in the study community were evaluated as favourable (good), but from the students' point of view, the economic factor as one of the influencing factors in the reading culture is relatively favourable (to the extent medium) were considered. In other words, managerial, cultural and economic factors were studied, respectively, among the effective factors on promoting the culture of reading in the society.
