Investigation ofStudy the yield, its yield components and morphological traits in the spring safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) using multivariate statistical approaches

Message:
Abstract:
In order to s In order to Sstudy the relationship between seed yield, yield components and some morphological traits, the correlation between grain yield and its components with some morphological traits, an an experiment with 0 different genotypes of spring safflower was conducted at the research Research station Station of Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic Azad University (– Shabestar Branch) in during 005 and 006. The experimental design was used a rRandomized complete Complete bBlock Design with three replications, and traits such as plant height, number of seeds per head, weight of main head in each plant, weight of all heads, number of heads per plant, total biomass, flowering time, time of maturity, hectoliter weight, weight of 00 seeds, seed yield and harvest index were measured. A p Positive and significant colleration was found between relationships were found among grain yield and with plant height, hectoliter weight, biological yieldtotal biomass and number of seeds per head. Stepwise regression and path coefficient analysis of grain yield as a dependent variables and other traits as independent variables revealedindicated that plant height, plant weight, weight of 00 -seeds weight and hectoliter weight had a positive direct effects on the seed yieldwere the traits with positive and a high effect on the grain yield. The greatest highest effects were determined by was related to the hectoliter weight, plant height and weight of 00 seeds and the least lowest effect by plant biomass.was from the plant weight on grain yield. Therefore, it is suggested to consider the three mentioned above main characters in the breeding programes which are strongly related to the seed yield. The result of principal component analysis should that 7.0% of primary variance explored by three basic principal components.
