Model of Institutionalizing Entrepreneurship in Agriculture

Doubtless, the Agricultural sector is considered a key element in the Iranian economy. This sector provides 75% of alimentary needs, 25% of GDP, 23% of employment level and a considerable portion of non-oil exports in our country. Special importance has also been attached to this sector in the Fourt Development Plan with projected 6.5% of annual growth rate. The major goal of this paper is to present a model for institutionalizing entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. The main question is to find a mechanism to accomplish this goal. Obviously, an institutionalized action undergoes the three outstanding features of: continuity, comprehensiveness and socialization. Thus the process of institutionalizing the agricultural entrepreneurship should embrace these three features in order to turn it into a social reality in the area of agriculture on a broad scale. The present article pursues a fundamental concept with the aim of introducing some guidelines for practical applications. The study is conducted in three stages: 1) designing the current model for institutionalization of agricultural entrepreneurship 2) model exprimentation and 3) introducting the ideal model of institutionalizings sound agricultural entrepreneurship.
