The Improvement of Traffic Situation through Increasing Performance of Transportation Services

Message:
Abstract:
The important place of transportation has long been evident in increasing movement, distribution, and exchange of various operations, and thus, has allocated more portion of traffic on roads to itself. This requirement has led to the formation of specialized firms in this regard that provide the possibility of ordering dispersed operations. The present paper aims to offer a method for optimal vehicle routing, so that through increasing performance of such institutions in transportation section, in addition to other advantages, the improvement of traffic situation could be obtained. Facilitating the constraints of initial routes, and implementing them among related stages, are the main features of this method. To investigate the performance of method, instead of using asingle case, several case studies have been used as test problems which are suggested by researchers, and occasionally by sampling real cases. The fact that the results are close to the optimal solution and improvement of traffic situation because of route and vehicleoptimization, indicates that performance and efficiency of the method is acceptable.
