Deviation from Norm in Saeb Tabrizi's Poetry
Author(s):
Abstract:
If we consider people such as Orfi Shirazi (b. 1620), Naziri Neishaburi (b. 1642), and Taleb Amoli (b. 1656) to be the poets of the era when the Hindi (Isfahani) style began to grow and evolve and if we consider Bidel Dehlavi (b. 1754) to be the end of this style, Saeb Tabrizi (b. 1702) is certainly regarded as the poet belonging to the midpoint. In terms of sense, language, elememts of imagery, music, and content, his poems are so special that he can be said to have a style. We do not see the realism (voqoo') found in Mohtasham Kashani's (b. 1617) poems and the extreme fantasies of Bidel in Saeb's poetry. His poetry is unique and his approach can truly be called "Saeb's approach" or "Saeb's style".In this article, we intend to study the senses Saeb has created in terms of his new and innovative outlook, an outlook different from that of the poets of the previous eras
