BackgroundThe epidemic of smoking is a great concern of health systems. Moreover, the number of smokers is increasing worldwide and this has led to an escalating trend of morbidity, mortality, and burden of smoking-related diseases. Therefore, monitoring the implementation of tobacco control laws in different countries is of extreme importance. This study aimed to describe policy makers experiences and perceptions of the facilitating factors of the implementation of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) in Iran.MethodsThis was a qualitative research in which data were collected through individual interviews. The participants included policy makers who were members of the national assembly for tobacco control. In this study, 13 unstructured interviews of about 45 to 60 minutes duration were conducted in an extrapolative manner. The qualitative content analysis method was applied until extrapolation of basic themes was complete.ResultsAs a result of the analysis, the themes of performance through training, through research, through intersectoral collaboration, and through setting priorities emerged. The emerged themes connote some critical points that have key roles in promoting the effective implementation of the WHO FCTC. Furthermore, the main role of the health sector becomes predominant.ConclusionThe study findings suggested the managed and coordinated work as one of the main facilitating factors of the implementation of the WHO FCTC at a national level.Keywords: Tobacco, Policy Makers, Qualitative, WHO, FCTC, Iran

BackgroundDirofilaria immitis is an important parasite in dog and other carnivores. Our objective was study on incidence and periodicity of heartworm in north of Iran and using other methods for its diagnosis in addition to Parasitology exam.MethodsThis survey spanned two years, between 2006 and 2008. Blood samples were collected from 431 stray dogs distributed along north of Iran, the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea. The Knott's modified test was used for diagnosis of D. immitis and other filariae. Meanwhile, the periodicity of microfilaria in peripheral blood circulation was calculated and the imaging diagnosis techniques of four dogs that had positive results were done.ResultDiagnostic parasitology results indicated that 16.01% of stray dogs were microfilaremic. Two different microfilariae were diagnosed: D. immitis in 13.69%, Dipetalonema reconditum in 1.86% and in 0.46% both of them. There was no statistically significant between infection to fiariae with sex and age of dogs. Also study on the periodicity of the presence of microfilaria in peripheral circulation showed that the highest rate of those was at 1 am and the lowest rate at 12 pm. Radiographic study showed distinctive signs with varied degrees of severity included: Tortuous and enlargement of main and lobar pulmonary artery, pulmonary parenchymal lesions and Right side heart enlargement that confirmed in electrocardiography. Also in echocardiographic images observed short parallel-sided images with the appearance of equal signs that indicated the presence of the heartworm.ConclusionThese results showed that to obtain a reliable diagnosis of heartworm infection, imaging tests could support parasitological exams.

در این مقاله، کنترل سرعت سیستم های سروهیدرولیک با استفاده از شبکه های عصبی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. ساختار کنترلی عصبی مورد استفاده ساختار آموزش خطای پس خور FEL می باشد و اساس آن مبتنی بر یادگیری دینامیک معکوس سیستم تحت کنترل و کمینه کردن خروجی کنترلر کلاسیک به عنوان تابع هزینه شبکه است. در این مقاله، از شبکه های پیش خور سه لایه استفاده شده و در لایه میانی آن، توابع سیگمویید انعطاف پذیر به کار رفته است. آموزش کلیه وزن های شبکه و پارامترهای توابع سیگمویید به صورت همزمان و با استفاده از الگوریتم پس انتشار خطا با ممنتوم انجام شده است. نتایج شبیه سازی ها با استفاده از نرم افزار مطلب - سیمولینک روی مدل کامپیوتری نشانگر قابلیت بالای شبکه های عصبی انعطاف پذیردر مقایسه با شبکه های عصبی ساختار ثابت و کنترلر کلاسیک در یادگیری دینامیک معکوس و کنترل سیستم سروهیدرولیک به صورت همزمان و در زمان واقعی می باشد.

The applied architecture of NN is a feedback error learning (FEL), whose underlying learning strategy is based on the inverse dynamics of the system under control. The classic control output was taken as the cost function to be minimized by the NN. A three-layer feedforward NN was applied and a flexible sigmoid activation function was used for the hidden layer nodes. The learning paradigm was online, making use of the back propagation of error with momentum. A simulation was performed and the results obtained indicated the high capability of the flexible NN in learning inverse dynamics in real time in controlling servo hydraulic systems.Keywords: Servo Hydraulic Actuator, Flexible Neural Network, Adaptive, Neural Control, Feedback Error Learning
