Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management Studies, Volume:8 Issue: 2, Summer-Autumn 2021, PP 160 -174The design of control chart has economic consequences that pure statistical viewpoint does not consider them. The economic-statistical design of control chart, attends not only statistical properties such as average time to signal (ATS) but also economic consequences like hourly expected total cost. The x-bar control chart dominates others if the quality is measured by continuous scale. This paper has considered the economic-statistical design of variable sample size and sampling interval (VSSI) x-bar control chart with multiple assignable causes. Using three sample sizes and three sampling intervals to construct the VSSI x-bar control chart and considering possible combination of design parameters as a decision-making unit, are part of novelty of this research. The problem is formulated as multiple objective decision making (MODM). Also, one capable hybrid meta-heuristic based on genetic algorithm is developed in this research and it was compared with some approaches extracted from the literature and it is found that it can be competitive based on economic and statistics factors.Keywords: Economic-Statistical Design, x-bar control chart, variable sample size, variable sampling interval, Genetic Algorithm

Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management Studies, Volume:4 Issue: 2, Summer-Autumn 2017, PP 19 -34The CCC-r chart is developed based on cumulative count of a conforming (CCC) control chart that considers the cumulative number of items inspected until observing r nonconforming ones. Typically, the samples obtained from the process are analyzed through 100% inspection to exploit the CCC-r chart. However, considering the inspection cost and time would limit its implementation. In this paper, we investigate the performance of CCC-r chart with variable sampling interval (CCC-rVSI chart). The efficiency of CCC-rVSI chart is compared with fixed sampling interval (FSI) scheme of CCC-r chart (CCC-rFSI chart) and CCCVSI chart. The comparison results show that CCC-rVSI chart is more efficient than the CCCVSI chart in reducing the average time to signal (ATS) and also CCC-rVSI chart performs better than CCC-rFSI chart. In addition, some sensitivity analyses are performed to illustrate the effect of the input parameters on the performance of CCC-rVSI chart.Keywords: Attribute control chart, variable sampling interval, CCC, r chart, average time to signal

In high quality industrial processes, the control chart is design based on cumulative count of conforming (CCC) items is very useful. In this paper, the performance of CCC-r chart with variable sampling intervals (CCC-rVSI chart) in the presence ofinspectionerrors isinvestigated. The efficiency of CCC-rVSI chart is compared with CCC-r chart with fixed sampling interval (CCC-rFSI chart). The comparison results show thatthe VSI scheme can performs better than the FSI scheme. نمودار ناپارامتری رتبه علامت دار (Signed-rank) برای کشف تغییرات در میانه(میانگین) فرایند کاربرد دارد. در این مقاله این نمودار در حالتی بررسی می شود که فاصله زمانی بین دو نمونه گیری متغیر است. مقایسه ای که میان عملکرد این نمودار و عملکرد نمودار در حالت فاصله نمونه گیری ثابت انجام شد، مشخص کرد که روش فاصله نمونه گیری متغیر کارایی این نمودار را افزایش می دهد. بیکر]1[نشان داد که نمودار رتبه علامت دار برای توزیع های دامنه سنگین نسبت به همتای پارامتری اش (نمودار x ̅) عملکرد بهتری دارد و در توزیع های دامنه سبک نمودارx کارایی بیشتری دارد. در این مقاله مقایساتی میان نمودار رتبه علامت دار در حالت فاصله نمونه گیری متغیر و نمودار x درحالت فاصله نمونه گیری ثابت برای دو توزیع دامنه سنگین کو.شی و نمایی دوبل،توزیع دامنه سبک یکنواخت و توزیع نرمال صورت گرفت.نتایج نشان داد که روش VSI نمودار رتبه علامت دار را برای توزیع های دامنه سبک حساس تر می سازد به طوری که قادر به رقابت با نمودار x باشد.

Although the Sign-Rank (SR) chart is more efficient under heavy-tailed distributions (double exponential and Cauchy) but the performance of this chart is very inappropriate in light-tailed distributions (uniform and normal). In this paper, signed-rank chart is developed with variable sampling interval. The performance of signed-rank chart with variable sampling interval (VSI-SR) is compared to signed-rank chart with fixed sampling interval (FSI-SR) and chart. The numerical results demonstrated the VSI-SR chart is better from the FSI-SR chart. Also the VSI SR chart is more efficient from chart in heavy-tailed distributions and some of changes under normal light-tailed distribution.Keywords: Nonparametric Control Chart, Signed, rank control chart, Variable Sampling Interval, Heavy–tailed distributions, Light–tailed distribution
