هدف از پژوهش حاضر، بررسی نقش واسطه ای درگیر عاملی در ارتباط میان اشتیاق تحصیلی و تعهد به دانشگاه بود. پژوهش حاضر از نوع توصیفی-همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری این پژوهش شامل تمامی دانشجویان دختر و پسر 15 دانشکده ی دانشگاه تهران در سال تحصیلی 1400- 1399بود. که از میان آن ها 650 نفر به روش نمونه گیری در دسترس انتخاب شدند. ابزار پژوهش پرسشنامه درگیری عاملی (AE) ریو (2013)، پرسشنامه اشتیاق تحصیلی دانشجویان ((SES گونیوس و کوزو (2015) و پرسشنامه انسجام تحصیلی و اجتماعی (SAI) پاسکارلا و ترنزینی (1980) بود. جهت بررسی آماره های توصیفی از نرم افزار SPSS-21 و برای مدل سازی معادلات ساختاری از نرم افزار Amos-22 استفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد بین متغیرهای اشتیاق شناختی، درگیری عاملی و تعهد به دانشگاه روابط مثبت معنادار وجود دارد (01/0 > p). به گونه ای که اشتیاق شناختی نقشی مستقیم و معنادار بر درگیری عاملی دانشجویان دارد (66/0=β، 001/0P<) و درگیری عاملی نیز نقشی مثبت و معنادار بر تعهد دانشجویان به دانشگاه دارد (22/0=β، 001/0P<). بنابراین پیشنهاد می شود برای افزایش درگیری تحصیلی دانشجویان در نظام آموزش عالی به جایگاه تعهد و اشتیاق تحصیلی دانشجویان به دانشگاه ها توجه شایانی شود.

The present study was a descriptive correlational study. The population data contained all male and female students of 15 faculties of the University of Tehran in the academic year 1399-1400. Among them, 650 students were selected by the available sampling method. The research instruments were the Factor Involvement Questionnaire (AE) Rio (2013), Student Achievement Questionnaire (SES Gonius and Cozo (2015)) and Pascarla and Transzini (SAI) Questionnaire of Academic and Social Cohesion (1980).. SPSS-21 software was used for Descriptive statistics analysis and Amos-22 software was used for structural equation modeling. The results showed that there are significant positive relationships between the variables of cognitive enthusiasm, factor involvement, and commitment to the university (P <0.01). Cognitive enthusiasm has a direct and significant effect on students agentic engagement (β = 0.66, P <0.001), and agentic engagement has a positive and significant effect on student's commitment to the university (β = 0.22, P <0.001). Therefore, it is suggested that for increasing the academic engagement of students in the higher education system, the status of students' commitment and academic enthusiasm to universities should be considered.

Universities require highly qualified and committed instructors to carry out the significant tasks of educating the future generation of the society. The primary interest of this study was to explore the construct of teacher commitment to determine its dimensions and components and finally design EFL Teachers’ Professional Commitment Questionnaire. First, through a thorough analysis of the available literature as well as a semi-structured interview, the core dimensions and components were opted. Then, in the second qualitative phase, the researcher designed the early draft of a structured questionnaire which was handed in to 25 experts. Content Validity Ratio was computed to ensure validity. Subsequently, the modified draft of the EFL Teachers’ Professional Commitment Questionnaire was designed and administered to 70 EFL university instructors to investigate the validity and reliability of the instrument employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. As a result, three dimensions of Commitment to Students, Commitment to Profession, and Commitment to University along with 10 components were confirmed. The practical implication of this study is a validated EFL Teachers’ Professional Commitment Questionnaire performing as an evaluative tool to assess the level of teachers’ commitment with respect to their commitment to students, university, and profession in the EFL academic context of Iran.Keywords: Commitment to Profession, Commitment to Students, Commitment to University, EFL Instructors’ Professional Commitment, PLS-SEM

Instructors play an important role in educating the future members of society through their work in universities and quality education cannot be achieved without the supreme efforts of dedicated and committed university teachers. Hence, there is a call for more research concerning the notion of teacher commitment, its dimensions and the factors that influence it. The current study first aimed to set priority among the dimensions of EFL instructors’ professional commitment through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling and then investigate the effect of EFL instructors’ employment status as full time or part time on their professional commitment through two-tailed t-test. A previously validated EFL Teachers’ Professional Commitment Questionnaire was employed to collect data from 420 EFL male and female university instructors. The results exhibited a significant difference between these two variables in total. One of the important implications of this research is that EFL instructors inspire to evaluate their commitment regarding the priority of dimensions and their underlying components meticulously to find out what they should work on more to improve students’ achievements in the EFL learning context of Iran.Keywords: EFL university instructors, Commitment to profession, Commitment to students, Commitment to university, PLS-SEM
