The purpose of this study is to provide a framework to explain the role of the University of Applied Sciences in the development of future careers with a futures research approach. In the present study, retrospective and Delphi methods have been used as futures research methods and structural equation methods to present the model. Therefore, at first, with the retrospective approach, two scenarios of Karafarin University and meeting the needs of local communities were selected as future scenarios or prospects of a comprehensive scientific-applied university. It should be noted that the reason for choosing the above scenarios is the overlap of these scenarios with the upstream documents of the country such as the document of strategic transformation of science and technology, document of Islamic University, comprehensive scientific map of the country, general policies of science and technology, 20-year vision document and general policies The system is for the development of science and technology. Then, using the Delphi method, the job characteristics required for holding future jobs and the educational approaches of universities to develop competencies were identified and extracted. Also, the results of the present study showed that the current situation of the University of Applied Sciences based on the required fields and skills and future jobs is not desirable. Finally, the model of explaining the role of the University of Applied Sciences in developing future jobs The structure was approved and fitted.
