The digital transformation of construction enables engineers to harness the power of technology-based data to help make more accurate decisions. IoT sensors collect details about temperature, fluid levels, vibrations, etc. Similarly, using artificial intelligence along with the Internet of Things provides high analytical power to evaluate the big data resulting from the Internet of Things. Therefore, understanding the dimensions of supply chains based on these technologies can help to facilitate and empower supply chain processes in this key industry. This research presents a framework by identifying the dimensions and key components of success in the supply chain based on the artificial intelligence of things (AIoT). This framework identifies key areas of the smart construction supply chain. Properly understanding this framework can be a valuable guide for the optimal implementation of smart supply chain processes.

In this paper, integrated project delivery is used as an innovative project delivery system instead of the traditional method to address productivity issues in the construction industry, risk/reward sharing and delay in architecture, engineering and construction industry. The payment of interest to the parties is subject to the completion of all project activities. For this purpose, by using the qualitative technique, we have identified the challenges of implementing the above method in Iran. Data were collected by interviewing 18 people, all of whom were managers and experts in construction projects and contracts. The results of the analysis of the received information indicated 31 challenges for the implementation of IPD contracts. Based on the results of the research, the challenges were divided into four categories of legal contractual principles, structural principles, behavioral principles and technological principles in applying the integrated project delivery method in large residential projects in Iran. Likewise, the scale provides information that could be used by those managers wishing to improve productivity issues in their firms. In addition, the results show that the IPD has a positive impact on construction industry.

Generally, the safety management system (SMS) introduced in 1980 focuses on reducing the risk of potential injuries and fatalities in the construction industry. The key to considering the challenges of project safety management and risk assessment in the construction industry as a hazardous industry because of its peculiar nature is important. In line with this, this article aims at employing decision-making techniques to ensure the safety requirements of construction projects. Additionally, a questionnaire under fuzzy environments for identifying the candidate locations and strategies associated with each specific location was conducted. Also, the Empirical Bayesian (EB) approach has been considered to estimate the expected frequency of accidents. The objective of the novel proposed approach is to find the optimal safety project selection with respect to the economic indicators and time value of money under uncertain circumstances. For this purpose, a mathematical optimization model is proposed, and its efficiency is demonstrated by a numerical case study. The results of optimizing the mathematical model indicate that by modifying two factors, namely the safety level and uncertainty coefficient, several scenarios can be explored for cost reduction and a decrease in the number of construction projects. By maintaining a constant safety level of 1.37 (as determined by industry experts) and increasing the uncertainty coefficient from 0 to 0.2, costs decrease by a factor of 1.7, accompanied by a decrease in the number of construction projects by one unit. Furthermore, when the uncertainty coefficient is held constant at 0.2, costs can be reduced up to four times by reducing the safety level from 1.37 to 1. This decision-making framework can significantly contribute to minimizing building accidents and enhancing safety in construction projects.

Due to the particular importance of projects in human life and in organizations, proper project management has been always regarded highly by researchers and practitioners. Recent advances in technology and fundamental changes in most scientific areas have affected projects and made their nature and environmental circumstances much more complex than in the past. Fortunately, in recent years, many scholars have recognized the importance of complexity in modern project management and tried to identify its various aspects. Furthermore, one of the main factors for a project’s success is the assignment of an appropriate project manager. Many studies have been done about project manager's competencies and the selection methods of a suitable project manager. In most of these researches, the amount and type of project complexity have been explained as influential factors for determining the competent project manager. However, a specific approach for project manager selection considering the complexity of projects is not provided yet. Hence, in this paper we try to design and implement a fuzzy group decision making approach to allocate the best project manager taking into account the project complexity. Also, owing to the importance of construction projects in the development of countrie's basic infrastructures, we exclusively studied this kind of projects. Finally, it should be noted that from the viewpoint of complexity theory, system complexity can exist in two forms: static and dynamic. Therefore, considering the breadth of issues related to each of these two complexity areas, just the static complexity of construction projects has been studied here.

Among the different jobs and activities, the construction industry is one of the most dangerous activities in the world. In recent years occupational accidents Statistics of the construction industry were higher than from other industries. WHO emphasizes that workers exposed to occupational stress, experience low motivation and quality of life, lower efficiency and productivity as well as lower health and safety in the workplaces. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of occupational stress and its relation with occupational accidents among workers in a construction industry. These cross-sectional studies were designed on 150 of the 450 employees working in a construction industry. Data gathering was done by a demographic form and questionnaire about stress. After the data entry into SPSS software, analysis was done by descriptive statistics, chi-square test and logistic regression. This study showed that the scope of job stress scores were between 50 and 148, and an average of 94 with a standard deviation of 15. Based on the obtained data, it is revealed that the stress level was inappropriate. Also for accident was found that 33% of workers had history workplace accidents. Among them 13% and 18% had experienced minor and major severity. According to the results of statistical analysis, there was no significant correlation between the seven subscales of stress with history of accidents, accident severity, marital status, number of children, education level, occupation, regular exercise and smoking (P> 0.05), but there was significant correlation between the type of job and the rest times (P <0.05). In summary the subjects stress was evaluated undesirable. So the challenge of job stress should be considered as a priority in the occupational health services. Also according to the results, the importance and the positive role of the training about principles and standards of occupational safety and health should not be forgotten for the studied workers.

Implementation of the risk management concepts into construction practice may enhance the performance of project by taking appropriate response actions against identified risks. This research proposes a multi-criteria group decision making approach for the evaluation of different alternative response scenarios. To take into account the uncertainties inherent in evaluation process, fuzzy logic is integrated into the revaluation process. To evaluate alternative response scenarios, first the collective group weight of each criterion is calculated considering opinions of a group consisted of five experts. As each expert has its own ideas, attitudes, knowledge and personalities, different experts will give their preferences in different ways. Fuzzy preference relations are used to unify the opinions of different experts. After computation of collective weights, the best alternative response scenario is selected by the use of proposed fuzzy group decision making methodology which aggregates opinions of different experts. To evaluate the performance of the proposed methodology, it is implemented in a real project and the best alternative responses scenario is selected for one of the identified risks.
