The Relation of Perfectionism and Self-respect among Female Cadets Of Islamic Republic of Iran Police University

Background And Aim
In recent decades, there has been special attention towards mental health of students. Due to the evaluative environment of universities, the issue that might be assessed is perfectionism. This present study investigates the relation of perfectionism and self-respect among female cadets of Islamic Republic of Iran Police University (IRIPU).
Method
This research is a correlation study and research community is female cadets of IRIPU in the academic years 2010-2011 which in randomly 81 approved cadets and 82 pervasive cadets were selected. Data was gathered through Tri-Short Perfectionism questionnaire (1993) and Cooper-Smith’s self-esteem questionnaire (1967).
Findings
Using Pearson correlation coefficient significant relation between perfectionism and self-respect among both groups. Also MANOVA showed there were significant differences between two groups in perfectionism and self esteem (p 0.01).
Conclusion
According to research finding approved cadets have positive perfectionism and self esteem in compared with pervasive cadets. Therefore, some plans must be considered for recovery of these variables in pervasive cadets.
