Weight and Volume Units in Islam Compared to Metric System

Abstract:
Shari units of weight and volume are applied in numerous jurisprudential issues such as the amount of water which is kurr, the amount of water needed for wudu and ghusl, the quotas of zakat, zakat al-fitra, kaffarat, mahr al-sunna and diat. Shiite and Sunni scholars have proposed different methods to precisely determine the weights and volumes in kilogram and liter. Out of these methods, some important ones have been
