The Effectiveness of Group Training in Communication Skills in Decreasing Marital Conflicts

The aim of the present research is to determine the effects of communication skills training on reducing marital conflicts. Statistical population consisted of all couples referring to a private counseling center in Astara in 2012.The research sample consisted of 28 participants selected through simple random sampling and randomly assigned to two equal experimental and control groups. The Marital Conflicts Questionnaire provided by Baratee & Sanaee was administered to subjects in both groups. After the pre-test was administered to both groups, the couples in the experimental group were trained during 10 ninety-minute sessions while intervention was made with the control group. After the completion of the training program, the post-test was administered to both groups.
