A maternal experience of divorce: a grounded theory study

The bond between mother and child,natural or constructive,is as much strong that women hardly put themselves in a situation of losing it.From the other side the stigma and cultural pressure on divorced women are as much heavy that they barely been guided to the path of divorce.Being a lone mom is the third factor of not doing so.But the statics has another story of mothers’ divorcing.Studying the process of turning married women to lone mother and the head of household is the main topic of this article.Resting upon the Grounded theory Method(Strauss&Korbin approach),it has been conducted semi-structured interviews among 20 divorced women having children in the city of Tehran up to the Saturation of Categories.The findings show that the event of“concept falling of life”because of personal, social and cultural reasons make the threshold of patience of women as low so they find married life unbearable.During this path although children are important for them but at that moment they go to the temporary extinction and women for a brief time just think about themselves.After getting determined abbot divorce children become high color again and the try to decide what is best for them.At the end what could be said is that although children have important role on divorce decision but the main factor on doing this is the crash of human/personality foundation of women the bear the mother/wife Identities.Reaching that point stop women to continue marred life despite the presence of women.
