Design and implementation of intelligent SCADA for control, monitoring, and behavioral analysis of important process parameters in National Iranian Oil Company

At present, the information of oil and gas production in National Iranian Oil Company's subsidiaries is sent offline to the Supervisory departments with delay and the final information is prepared for the engineering departments and managerial office by using local software packages. In this paper, by utilizing existing facilities and infrastructure, practical solutions are proposed for sending oil and gas production data of operational stations with the least possible cost and in the shortest time. Besides data transmission, the practical steps which are taken in the monitoring and control of local decentralized systems by utilizing common industrial protocols such as Modbus and OPC are described. Moreover, the information related to control, monitoring, archiving and analyzing data, using the most advanced methods of SCADA and data mining, are explained. During the implementation of the project, industrial software such as LabVIEW and Microsoft SQL Server are deployed. By applying the web service features, the final information is provided on the WinCC monitoring software and the web browser. The relevant information is also provided in the paper.
