Compound nouns in middle Persian text"zand wahman yasn"

Zandof Wahman-yasn (=Interpretation of the praise ofWahman), whose author is anonymous, contains texts that containing predictions of the events of the world, especially the end of the world, which are derived from the revelation. Ahuramazda has foretold the events of the future of Iran at the end of the world in the dream for Zardušt. Wahman (= Bahman) is a knowledgeable god, and probably for this reason, the prophecies in Yasnwith his name has been gathered in Avesta. The prose of this book is simple and fluid, and it is considered a good prose of Pahlavi. The present research studies the compound names in the text of “ZandWahmanYasn”. In this research, the compound names are examined from the point of view of the rules of the wordformation.The methods of making word are extracted and examples of this text are presented for each pattern. The namesare divided into four groups: simple, derivative, compound and phrase, each consisting of different patterns from the structural point of view. Compounds are varied and categorized according to the type of grammar.
