Relation to the practice of religious beliefs with lifestyle in the elderly

Paying attention to spirituality and its effective factors as a necessity that gives the elderly an indescribable tranquility and vitality. Which is very important.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between religious beliefs and elderly life style.

This descriptive correlational study was conducted on 218 elderly people in Ali Abad Katoul city in 1395. The data collection tool was a questionnaire of religious beliefs and elderly lifestyle. The data were collected by SPSS16 software. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics (tables, mean and standard deviation), and inferential statistics (independent variance analysis and Pearson correlation coefficient, Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney coefficient)

The results of the operation showed that religious beliefs 73 + 11/5 and lifestyle were 110/97 + 14/87. Statistical test showed a significant relationship between religious beliefs and lifestyle.P<0/01,r=0/75). As it increased with the increase of the practice of religious beliefs in lifestyle.

The results of this study showed that by acting on religious beliefs, it can promote lifestyle in the elderly. Therefore, it is suggested that managers and planners of the system should pay more attention to the spiritual and religious aspects of the elderly.
