The Effectiveness of Hypnosis Therapy on Stress Acceptance in Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome
Abstract The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of hypnotherapy on stress acceptance of PTSD veterans. Pre-test-post-test control group design was used in this research. The statistical population was all referrals to the social work in the department of Veteran Affairs in Shahrekord in 2018. Depending on the research objectives and method, 30 veterans referred to the social work in the department of Veteran Affairs of Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province were selected by purposive sampling. Then the subjects were divided equally and randomly to both experimental and control groups, each group has 15 subjects. Standardized Stress Questionnaire used for data collection (DASS-21). The findings showed that hypnotherapy is effective on stress in PTSD veterans. According to results, it can be said hypnotherapy is a holistic treatment with behavioral aspects due to its effective mechanisms, such as acceptance, defusion, as a context, a connection to the present and a committed act, which can be an effective way to treat stress in PTSD Veterans.
