Investigating the relations of types of depression form Quran's perspective with religious orientation

Depression is one of the most common mental illnesses that influence on social and personal lives of many people. Much research indicates the effective role of religion on mental health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the relations of the types of depression form Quran's perspective with religious orientation. 214 students from Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch (age ranged between 20 and 40) completed the depression diagnosis scale based on Quran (Fayyaz et al., 2016) and religious orientation scale (Bahrami Ehsaan, 2002). Results indicated significant negative correlation between religious orientation and depressions types from Quran's perspective. It means that people with stronger religious orientation less than others suffer from depression. This study showed that the dimensions of religious orientation were related to depression form Quran's perspective and could predict it.
