Responses of Iran's Criminal Policy System in Preventing Delinquency of Working and Street Children

Criminal policy, and in particular participatory criminal policy, seeks to use all available capacities to prevent delinquency committed by working and street children and their activities from the level of culture and law-making to the fair implementation of judicial and criminal sentences in relation to children and adolescents who commit crimes. The present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the existing laws, examining the capacity of governmental and non-governmental institutions and seeking to achieve a response to Iran's criminal policy in preventing delinquency of working and street children.

The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. Data were collected by a library of documents and considering the related laws and regulations.

In order to prevent delinquency of working children, in addition to legislative and judicial responses, the elimination of the causes of delinquency among children should be sought. The biggest problem in the path of children is economic problems and the consequent deprivation of education and turning to street work. The most important answers of criminal policy in the non-criminal field are to create conditions for the upbringing and socialization of delinquent working children who, if they turn to crime and criminal acts, refrain from committing a crime and, to put it better, do not benefit from committing a crime.
