Abstract:
Judicial ethics is an essential standard of judicial health. The Bangalore Principles on Judicial Conduct is the most important international document containing the six fundamental values of independence, impartiality, health, decency, equality and competence and perseverance. The purpose of these principles is to formulate criteria for the ethical behavior of judges and guide them and create a judicial framework for systematizing judicial behavior. The purpose of these principles is also to help members of the executive and legislative branches, lawyers and the general public to better understand and support the judiciary. These principles imply that judges must be held accountable for their conduct before relevant institutions set up to uphold judicial standards. On the other hand, Islamic jurisprudential books contain the conditions of judges as well as the negative and positive conditions of judgment. The main problem is their dispersion in different jurisprudential books and the lack of a comprehensive document on the principles of judicial behavior. In this article, we will examine the basics of Bangalore principles from the perspective of Islamic law.
