Constructing and Validating the Knowledge and Behavioral Evaluation Questionnaire of Mothers in Sex Education of Primary and Secondary Students of the First Period

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to make a sexual education questionnaire based on verses and narrations and to check its validity and reliability. This research is a mixed exploratory research method. In the qualitative part, using the method of content analysis according to the verses and traditions included in the book Sexual Education: Basics, Principles and Methods from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith; The items related to sexual education were extracted and then the questionnaire of sexual education of children and adolescents was designed in two dimensions of behavior and knowledge and two types of direct and indirect education. The statistical population in the quantitative section included mothers with students (boys and girls), primary (third grade) and secondary (ninth grade) living in Rodhen city in 2019, from which 320 first-time mothers were selected by random cluster method. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was used to check the validity of the instrument. By performing exploratory factor analysis, no item was removed from the questionnaire and four components were identified for each age group. The construct validity of the tool was also confirmed by the method of confirmatory factor analysis, which showed that the questionnaire has a good fit in the eight investigated factors by removing a number of items. According to the findings of the present study, it can be said that the questionnaire of sexual education of mothers in two age groups of children and adolescents has good validity and reliability (content validity 0.90, reliability between 0.79 and 0.95).
