Abstract:
Wahhabism and Takfiri groups, like other Muslim scholars, believe that in the present era, some traits related to the period of Jaheliyyah have spread in the Islamic Ummah and some Muslims have become immersed in the affairs of ignorance. The difference between Wahhabism and other Muslims is that they widened the extent of Jaheliyyah and considered many legal affairs illegal and even in some cases, have ruled that the Islamic affairs are shirk. As an example: Takfiris have considered actions such as: supplication and asking for intercession from the dead, resorting to the prayers of divine saints and seeking bless from the graves of the righteous as Jaheliyyah and violation of Islamic rules. while, the legitimacy of many of these matters has been proven from the verses of the Holy Quran and narration from both Sunni and Shia sects. Also, many great Muslim scholars have been observing these matters. In this essay, the Wahhabi viewpoint about the concept of Jaheliyyah will be criticized.
