Abstract:
What opinion does the Qur'an have about art and the position of the artist, and what classification does it provide regarding the hierarchy of arts? To answer this question, we need a measurement. We have chosen this criterion since the 18th century, which is rightly called the century of taste. Everyone in the field of aesthetics believes that the special issues of this field are being formed in this century. We learn to discuss the problems of each field from its experts and we use it in a descriptive-analytical way to look and get a perspective in the Qur'an.The result of looking through Kant's glasses is that Kant's classification of fine arts includes the art of speech, poetry and oratory, visual arts, plastic art (sculpture and architecture) and painting (garden arrangement and decoration), the play of sensual affection and music. And art is the play of colors, the combined arts of drama-dance. The Qur'an's classification of arts includes the art of words and verses, which is verbal art, the art of seeing and hearing, the art of eloquence, the art of painting and illustration, and manual arts also fine art, which include carpentry, architecture, the arts related to making armor and fabric decorations, and in the next stage, sculpture. Kant considers the criterion of importance to be the free play of understanding and imagination, which is based on form. Such works of art are also divided in terms of expressing ideas. It seems that the expression of ideas is important in the Quran, which is derived from moral concepts. In this section, the importance of verbal arts, with this emphasis, are at the top of the hierarchy of arts.
