The bridge between knowledge and action: Effective strategies for utilizing research findings in crime prevention
The main goal of the research is to identify the fields of application of research achievements in the field of crime prevention. Qualitative research method with exploratory approach was used. A total of 15 executive and academic experts in the field of crime prevention were interviewed through targeted sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire and the ladder technique was used. To control the validity of the interview questions, two crime prevention experts were used, and finally, after consulting with them, the necessary changes were made in the interview questions. The gap between the researcher and the executive, lack of sufficient motivation for researchers to provide practical and management packages, the weakness of the law in the field of research contracts to oblige the researcher to disseminate and apply research findings, the weakness of human resources in the application of research findings, the weakness financial affairs, scientific weakness, managerial weakness, insufficient use of information tools for dissemination, provided that factors such as linguistic and structural simplification and the creation of practical, executive and managerial summaries by researchers are solved by assigning material and spiritual privileges to them. Become experts and specialists in strategies such as creating a suitable and appropriate information system, promoting and communicating crime prevention findings, creating and setting up personal and non-personal mediators to connect researchers with practitioners, action research, empowering practitioners, creating groups in social networks. , compiling and launching a crime prevention wiki, validation and classification of crime prevention findings have been suggested.
