A Survey on the rate of Social Skills components based on Islamic Teachings in the high school religious text - books of Iran

Abstract:
The main aim of the present study is to analyze the Iranian high school religious text –books from the perspective of social skills. This study is concentrated on the social skills based on Islamic teachings specially, the speeches of Prophet Mohammed. These Islamic components are included:"Family relations", "life management", "Interpersonal relations", "cooperation and participation in team work" and” citizenship". The method of this study is quantitative content analysis. The results of this study show that the current Iranian high school religious text- books dont have enough efficiency for teaching Islamic social skills. This weakness has been seen both in content and questions of these text- books. At the end of the present paper, some suggestions have been presented in order to improve the educational situation.
