    The Bushehr Province with an annual production of 45343 tons of total country`s productionis in third place in ranked. The aim of this study was to evaluate the functionally and technicalefficiency of agricultural insurance for growers in the province. Technical efficiency is one ofthe measures to evaluate the operating performance of agriculture. This cross-sectional studywas conducted as a survey. The target population includes all tomato growers Bushehr provinceby using cluster sampling from three counties of Dayyer, Dashti and Jam were collected in theprovince. The utilization of Patton table to determine the sample size of 8,000 tomato growersof Province, 367 people were in three counties of Dayyer, Dashti and Jam with 70, 57 and 65tomatoes growers uninsured and the number 65, 50 and 60 tomatoes growers insured ,the col￾lected information on the total sample were determined. The results showed that the averagetechnical efficiency of tomato farmers insurance group in counties of Jam, Dayyer, Dashti usingordinary least squares corrected, respectively, 61.8, 44.2 and 41.4 percent and for group not in￾sured respectively 60.5, 33.8 and 34.6 percent. The test results were compared and the averagetechnical efficiency of insured tomato growers in any county, showed that agricultural insurancein counties of Dashti and Dayyer had a positive and significant effect on the technical efficiencyof growers, while uninsured growers has no significant technical efficiency on growers of Jamcounty.

    Agricultural Insurance Fund to be effectively performing its mission and carryout a variety of agricultural insurances, also to direct, supervise, and extendthem, must developed some strategies then launch and implement them. TheImplementation of strategies is the stage of transforming words into action andthis task, due to the extent of its aspects of the work and the multiplicity ofdeterrents, is regarded as one of the most complex and valuable organizationalcapabilities. Identification of obstacles in implementing the strategies inorganizational level is one of the most important procedures and processes ofstrategy implementation.This study was carried out with the aim to "assess to obstacles of theimplementation and devised strategies by agricultural insurance fund" andregarding the nature of the subject it is practical and in terms of the degree ofcontrol is non experimental and in term of the type of research is descriptive   corelational and in term of objective is exploratory research. The main tool for thisresearch was a researcher made questionnaire. The statistical population of thisresearch was all the managers and experts of the agricultural products insurancethat included 240 people and the sample size was determined based on Morgan'stable 144.In this study, first based on a literature review and a review of research recordsand also agricultural products insurance fund reports, seven main categoriesof obstacles were identified. Rating obstacles using univariate T  test indicatedthat the mean of all classes was larger than the value of the test, that is three,and all the factors studied had a confidence level of more than 0.999. Also theresults of univariate T  test and Friedman showed that seven key influentialfactors in the implementation of strategies developed by agricultural productsinsurance in order of prioritize are: 1. political, environmental, and backgroundfactors, 2. structural and infrastructural factors, 3. organizational resourcesfactor, 4. planning and evaluation system factors, 5. organizational harmony andcommunications, 6. organizational culture, and, 7. management.The recommendations of this research include: establishing "development ofagricultural insurance" specialized parent company, developing strategic planswith regard to private sector insurance industry, and investigating the influencingfactors of private agricultural insurance industry.

    Wheat farmers in general and rain fed farmers in particular are faced with natural hazardssuch as drought. In Kermanshah Province, rain fed farmers are challenged by drought,frost, and dust storm. To overcome this dilemma, agricultural policy makers haveprovided crop insurance to rain fed farmers in order to promote risk management andreduce production risk. Because of complex nature of crop insurance in one hand andrecurrent event of natural and man made disasters in other hand, continuous evaluationof crop insurance in terms of stakeholders' satisfaction is imperative. Therefore, thepurpose of this qualitative study was to evaluate the process of crop insurance in termsof stakeholder satisfaction using participatory evaluation and grounded theory. ByUsing purposeful sampling, insured rain fed farmers, crop insurance extension agents,and agricultural bank specialists all had participated in this study. The result of contentanalysis revealed three major themes: 1) infrastructural factors, 2) attitudinal factors,3) administrative factors. The infrastructural factors include: ineffective crop insurancestructure, lack of job security for private insurance agents, small scale farming systems,limited insurance coverage, and weak coordination between agricultural organization andother related offices. The attitudinal factors include: lack of crop insurance knowledgeamong farmers, weak crop insurance culture, lack of trust among farmers and privateinsurance agents. The administrative factors include: delays in paying damages, andunrealistic damage estimation. Based on the results, the following recommendations areproposed: standardizing damage estimation, redefining crop insurance premiums, andusing information communication to institutionalizing crop insurance culture amongrural population.

    Reduction of natural disasters in agricultural products and natural resourcesmanagements are handled by risk management. Insurance of agricultural prod￾ucts is a tool of the management which is faced with less reluctant and tenden￾cies by the ranchers of Kalaleh from Golestan province. In this regards, currentresearch was carried out using questionnaire’s method and monitoring approachin the area. All Sample volume was calculated by Cochran formula and reliabil￾ity of questions was obtained by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient which was 202samples and 74.34percent, respectively. In order to determine the satisfactionrate of the ranchers from product insurance to the effective factors, Ordinal lo￾gistic regression model was employed using SPSS v.22 software. The Resultsshowed that lack of satisfaction of the ranchers was due to some factors such aslack of agricultural products’ insurance in the past, lack of damages compensa￾tion, lack of participation in training classes, natural condition of prefecture, theage of rancher, and alfalfa seed allocation .The considerations with convergenceof four different pastoral and nomads peoples which are living in the area, thereis a needs to build different training classes for them for increasing their knowl￾edge so to promote their interest toward acceptance of agricultural insurance.

    In order to find out the effects of time, and methods of application and the amount of nitrogen fer￾tilizer to prevent frost damage also reducing the cost of compensation of cotton and having sus￾tainable cotton production, an experiment was conducted during 2006 2007 on clay loamy soil atVaramin research center for two years. The experimental design was factorial with 24 treatmentsand four replications. The treatments included: three times of fertilizer application, at squaring,flowering and boll formation stage and four level of fertilizer application (0, 50 percent less thanrecommended rate, 100 percent as recommended rate and 50 percent more than recommendedrate) with two applying methods’ broad casting and banding application methods. Base on firstyear results the amount of fertilizer had a significant effect on number of boll and yield at onepercent level. Also the method of applying fertilizer significantly affected vegetative branchesat one percent level. The most boll number per plant (20.88) and yield (4571 kg/hectare) weregained from 100 percent recommended fertilizer rate. In second year, the time of applying fer￾tilizer affected the number of reproductive branch at 5 percent level. Also the level of fertilizeruse was significant at 5 percent and 1 percent on boll weight, number of branches and number ofboll per plant. These components are functioning very effective on the final performance, whichif is not managed during the growing season, cotton plants will easily losses against elementslike cold and frost and lack of proper management of fertilizer during the growing season, plantswill be weakened. Otherwise, the enforcement of harmful agents cause damage and reducesproduction.

  • Investigating the Role of Educational Services of Extension in Developing the Pastures Insurance from Point of view of Agricultural Insurance Fund Experts in Ilam Province

    This research aimed to investigating the role of extension education in developing thepastures insurance in view of Agricultural Insurance Fund experts, in Ilam province andwith overall framework by manner of survey research being preformed . The statisti￾cal population of this research was composed of 70 Agricultural Insurance experts inwhich by method of census and using questionnaire have been preformed. The validityof questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts and to determine the reliabilityof different parts of the questionnaire Cronbachs' alpha coefficient (0.85>α>0.92) wasused. Data analyzing have done using SPSS v20. Multiple Regression analyzing results,step by step in order to examining the role of independent variable in determining de￾pendent variable of developing pasture insurance, shows that independent variables ofextension education methods and development of educational planning was determinedin first and second steps by putting it into regression equation in which close to about%38.5 of dependent variable of variance of developing pasture insurance was explainedand determined .

    The Hazardous conditions in agriculture production, always, are concerning matters ofthe farmers’ income. In the other hand, agricultural insurance is being presume as aguaranty for avoiding failure in any stages of production, and act as a tool in reducingrisk and strengthen incentives for investment in agriculture. The present study aimed toinvestigate the influencing factors on the acceptance of peach and nectarine orchards,agricultural insurance in Savojbolagh township. The data for this study were collectedby using 130 completed questionnaires from the abovementioned farmers. Then byusing Logit model, and excel or reviews software the affecting factors on the acceptanceof insurance in two groups, insured and not insured, were analyzed.The results showed that variables such as the number of years of insurance , orchardsarea, times of visiting the insurance experts, timeconsuming the administrativeprocedures from insurance agents and insurance claims have a significant effect oninsurance acceptance.Those variables , such as farmer’s age, education, second jobs, credit, income… did notshow any significant effect on insurance compliance.
