    Introduction
Hemorrhagic disease during pregnancy is a major cause of hospital admission and maternal mortality in the world. The most leading causes of maternal hemorrhage during pregnancy are abnormal placentation, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, and preeclampsia. There are a few case reports of spontaneous rupture of uterine vessels in the literature. The diagnosis of this event, which is hazardous to the pregnant women is difficult due to its rarity..
    Case Presentation
Our patient was a 32-year-old primigravid woman presented with abdominal and flank pain. Her gestational age was 30 weeks. During admission in Aria Hospital, she had a significant hemoglobin level drop and developed signs of acute abdomen..
    Conclusions
Laparotomy was performed and fundal uterine vessels rupture was seen and ligated. A 30-week-male fetus was born by cesarean section. Now the fetus is alive with no medical problem..

    Background
Tagetes genus contains 56 species and is native in North and South America, but some have become widespread around the world..
    Objectives
This study was designed to examine the antibacterial potential of methanolic and ethanolic extracts of Tagetes erecta..
    Materials And Methods
Hydroalcoholic extracts from aerial parts of this plant were prepared using aqueous solution of ethanol and methanol (8:2 v/v). The inhibitory effect of 1.5, 3, 6, 12 and 18 mg of effective dose per disc of these extracts was discovered against clinical bacterial isolates including three Gram-positive bacteria: Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus and S. epidermidis and five Gram-negative bacteria: Salmonella Typhi, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus mirabilis. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and time kill kinetic assay of these extracts were also investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis was performed to find possible structural changes following exposure to the extract..
    Results
Both extracts of T. erecta were active against B. cereus, S. aureus, S. epidermidis and S. Typhi. Hydroalcoholic extracts of T. erecta showed significant antibacterial effects against some clinically important pathogenic bacteria. These extract also caused deformation and lysis of bacterial cells, as shown by SEM..
    Conclusions
These extracts can be used as antibacterial agents in treating infectious diseases. Further studies are needed for considering this plant as an antibacterial plant and benefit from its clinical applications for routine use..

    Background
Euthanasia is one of the important challenges in the field of end of life care. There are few studies investigated the attitude of Shiite Muslim nurses about different aspects of euthanasia..
    Objectives
The aim of present study was to investigate the attitude of Iranian Shiite nurses about different aspects of euthanasia in East Azerbaijan Provence, Iran, 2012..Patients and
    Methods
In this descriptive study, 209 nurses (census sampling method) from 6 educational hospitals in East Azerbaijan Province were participated. The attitude of nurses was investigated with Euthanasia Attitude Questionnaire, which is a 31-item scale. This scale investigate the attitude of nurses in 5 domains, including general attitude (3 items), legal and religious issues (5 items), end of life care (8 items), euthanasia decision making (8 items), and attitude toward different types of euthanasia (7 items). Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis using SPSS software (ver. 13)..
    Results
Participants had a negative attitude towards all aspects of euthanasia. They reported that they would not participate in euthanasia procedure even this procedure was accepted by religious leaders and legal authorities. They believed that caring of end of life patients is a burden but this is not a reason for euthanasia and also they did not consider patients or their relative as decision makers for euthanasia. In addition, participants rejected all types of euthanasia..
    Conclusions
Iranian nurses in East Azerbaijan Provence have negative attitudes toward different aspects of euthanasia and this negative attitude is not related to religious or legal issues. So, searching for the reasons for such an attitude needs more investigation..

    Background
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a well-known risk factor for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Waist circumference (WC) is an essential component for the diagnosis of the MetS..
    Objectives
The aim of this study was to compare the cut-off points of WC proposed by the international diabetes federation (IDF), adult treatment panel (ATP III), and iranian national committee of obesity (INCO) with that of the present study for predicting the MetS..Patients and
    Methods
This cross-sectional study was performed on 930 individuals (439 males and 491 females) aged more than 20 years living in Ahvaz City, capital of Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran during 2009 - 2010. Waist circumference cut-off values were obtained using a receiver operator characteristic curve. Optimal cut-off values were calculated by plotting the true-positive rate against the false-positive rate. Also, sensitivity, specificity, and Youden’s Index were calculated..
    Results
The cut-off points of WC, according to a maximum sum of sensitivity plus specificity for detecting at least two components of MetS were found to be 91.5 cm and 85.5 cm in men and women, respectively. Using these values, sensitivity and specificity were 61% in men and 65% in women. The sensitivity of the male population and the specificity of the female population were found to be higher than the values proposed by IDF and ATP III..
    Conclusions
Optimal WC values for defining MetS were 91.5 cm and 85.5 cm in men and women, respectively. The cut-off values recommended by world organizations are not appropriate for an adult population living in Ahvaz City..

    Background
The majority of the cases of coccydynia occur in conjunction with either subluxated or hypermobile coccyx, and it has been proposed that this pathologic instability may cause chronic inflammatory changes..
    Objectives
This study was done to evaluate the effect of coccygectomy in patients with resistant coccydynia after initial conservative therapy failure..Patients and
    Methods
Between October 2010 and December 2013, 13 patients with coccydynia underwent coccygectomy in the hospitals of Ahvaz city after a failed conservative therapy for at least 4 - 6 months. In order to evaluate the results, a questionnaire was obtained, including the extent of relief in the painful area, improvement in quality of life, intensity of pain in the sitting position, pain during daily activities, and the need for analgesics, according to the criteria described by Bayne..
    Results
The patients were followed up for an average of 25.7 months. The results were good in 11 patients, excellent in 1, and fair in only 1 patient. The excellent and good rates amounted to 92.2%. No major complication was seen..
    Conclusions
Coccygectomy is a successful treatment in patients unresponsive to conservative treatments for coccydynia..

    Background
The different effects of exercise on obesity in obese adolescents have not sufficiently been studied..
    Objectives
This study aimed to investigate the effect of an eight-week rope skipping exercise on interleukin-10 (IL-10) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in obese and overweight adolescents..Patients and
    Methods
In this semi-experimental study, using purposive convenience sampling 30 overweight and obese teens were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental (height 165.28 cm; weight 85.53 kg and age 13.73 years old) and control (height 164.54 cm; weight 83.02 kg and age 13.93 years old) groups. Then the experimental group performed the eight-week rope skipping exercise program while the control group did not receive any intervention and was only following up. Before and after the exercise, the variables including weight, fat percentage, body mass index (BMI) and the maximum oxygen consumption (Vo2max) in both groups were measured. To assess the amount of serum IL-10, CRP, 48 hours before and after the exercise, fasting blood samples were taken during the two-stage mode. The correlated t-test and the independent t-test were used to compare the intragroup and intergroup relationships, respectively..
    Results
There was no significant change in the serum levels of IL-10 (P > 0.05); however, the intragroup comparison in the experimental group showed a significant increase in serum levels of IL.10 (P < 0.05). Moreover, the variables of the weight, BMI, fat percentage, V02max and CRP were significantly changed (P < 0.05)..
    Conclusions
A rope skipping protocol increases the anti-inflammatory index, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, and improves the body compounds and immune system of the obese and overweight teens..
