Background
Nowadays, the use of green tea supplements has increased. Studies have shown that green tea can have positive effects on anti‑inflammatory and antioxidative factors, as well as improve aerobic performance capacity. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the effects of this supplement on inflammatory factors, total antioxidant capacity responses, and maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 Max) of healthy young men in summer.
MethodsThis study is a double‑blind randomized controlled trial (RCT) in which 15 young men (age 25.06 ± 2.1) were randomly assigned into the green tea (GT) and placebo groups. Subjects performed maximum aerobic exercises (shuttle run 20 m) in separate workouts (14 days) in summer. They consumed 640 mg green tea extracts or maltodextrin 90 min before exercise in a double‑blind design. Blood samples were collected before and after the exercise and then evaluated in the biochemistry laboratory. In this study, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests were used for the statistical analysis.
ResultsThe results of this study show that green tea supplement significantly slowed down the increasing tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF‑α) (GT: 15.03 ± 4.31 [pg/ml], placebo: 31.38 ± 7.18 [pg/ml], [P = 0.000]); increased the total antioxidant capacity (GT: 1.04 ± 0.06 [mm], placebo group: 0.72 ± 0.04 [mm], [P = 0.001 VO2 ]); and Max (GT: 44.43 ± 3.06 [ml/kg/min], placebo group: 34.88 ± 1.30 [ml/kg/min], [P = 0.001]) in the supplement group than placebo. In addition, no significant differences in interleukin 1 beta (IL‑1β) was observed between thee groups (GT: 26.86 ± 5.05 [pg/ml], placebo group: 23.47 ± 3.16 [pg/ml], [P = 0.251]).
ConclusionsThe consumption of green tea supplements 90 min before aerobic exercise may decrease inflammation and oxidative stress factors and improve VO2 Max in summer.

کلید واژگان: پروتئین های پوشش دهنده چربی, پری لیپین 1 و 5, محدودیت کالری, مقاومت به انسولین}Background and AimExcessive fat accumulation is one of the most important mechanisms of type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. Accordingly, in this study, we will examine the effect of caloric restriction on lipid coat proteins that prevent lipolysis of the adipose tissue.Materials and MethodsIn this study, 30 adult male Sprague-Dawley rats (200 ± 20 weight) were used. First, rats were divided into 2 groups (standard and high-calorie diet). After 8 weeks, the high-calorie diet group was randomly assigned to two subgroups: caloric restriction and high-fat diet. Finally, the amount of perilipin 1 and 5 genes expression evaluated by Pcr and insulin resistance evaluated by HOMA index.
Findings: The weight and insulin resistance of the high-fat diet group was significantly higher than the standard and calorie restriction group (p≤0.005). Insulin resistance was not significantly different between the caloric restriction and standard group (p = 0.394). The expression of perilipin 1 in the adipose tissue of the high-fat diet was significantly higher than the caloric restriction group (p ≤0.005). The expression of perilipin 1 gene in skeletal muscle in the high-fat diet group was significantly higher than the calorie restriction and standard diet groups (p≤0.005). The calorie restriction group had more perilipin 5 expressions than the high-fat diet and the standard group (p ≤0.005).ConclusionThe caloric restriction may be due to the effect on lipid coat proteins and, as a result, a decrease in fat accumulation, that it can prevent insulin resistanceKeywords: Calorie restriction, Insulin resistance, Lipid coat proteins, Perilipin 1, 5} -

Based on this، the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of acute L-Carnitine supplementation on blood lactate، glucose، VO2max and anaerobic power in trained men.MethodsSixteen trained men (aged 19-23) volunteers from University of Guilan، facul-ty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences participated as subjects in this investiga-tion. Subjects divided to aerobic (A) and anaerobic (An) group randomly. In a double blind design، subjects participated in two separated tests by one week. Subjects ingested 3 grams of L-Carnitine supplementation or placebo (maltodextrin) 90 minute before aerobic and anaerobic exercise. For aerobic activity used shuttle run 20 meter and for anaerobic activity used RAST test. Blood samples were collected 5 minute prior at rest and 4 minute post tests. Participants were asked in the morning to obtain fasting blood samples and perform tests. A t-test was used to detect differences between supplementa-tion and placebo groups in each exercise.ResultsL-Carnitine group ((A) 141. 25±20. 62 and (An) 145. 38±55. 47) significantly had lower lactate concentration than placebo ((A) 151. 00±20. 85 and (An) 152. 50±28. 59) after tests (P≤0. 05). L-Carnitine group ((A) 136. 00±19. 74 and (An) 115. 50±13. 64) had significa-ntly higher blood glucose compared to placebo ((A) 121. 62±15. 65 and (An) 110. 12±12. 63) too (P≤0. 05). Also، VO2max، mean and maximum anaerobic power in L-Carnitine group were significantly more than ones in placebo (P<0. 05).ConclusionThese findings indicate that acute oral supplementation of L-Carnitine can induce fatigue decreasing and improvement of aerobic and anaerobic performance.Keywords: Aerobic exercise, anaerobic exercise, carnitine, glucose, lactates}
