Abstract:
The uprising movements in the Arab world which began with Tunisian revolution in 2011 and continued with the overthrow of four dicactors namely Zeinolaabedin ben Ali, Husni Mubarak, Moamar Qadafi and Ali Abdullah Saleh is still going on in 2012. Analysts and scholars have so far looked at these events from different perspectives. While a majority of analyses have been concentrated on the roots and causes of these events, others have paid attention to the role of Media specially the coverage of Arab and English media in these developments. This paper is an attempt to evaluate the coverage of these events (mainly in Bahrain, Syria and Egypt) by the western and Arab media in a comparative case-study I order to show the duality and double-standard approach used by these media.
